This website belongs to The FirstWord Church (registered as The Firstword Christian Assembly), 4, Abayomi Dosunmu Street, Iyana Cele, Saraki, Adigbe, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. We respect your privacy. This page explains what information the website collects, why, and the choices you have, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Information you give us
Prayer requests. When you send a prayer request, we receive your name, the email address or phone number you choose to share (optional), your request, and whether you would like someone to contact you. We use this only to pray for you and, if you ask us to, to get in touch. Requests are stored privately on this website, where only our pastoral and prayer team can read them, and a copy is emailed to the church. We never publish, sell or share prayer requests.
WhatsApp and phone. Buttons such as “I’m coming this Sunday”, “Join a Life Group” or “Register on WhatsApp” open WhatsApp with a message ready for you to send. Nothing is sent until you press send, and the conversation is then handled under WhatsApp’s own privacy policy.
Giving. This website does not take payments or store card or bank details. It only shows the church’s bank account numbers so you can give through your own bank.
Information collected automatically
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build visitor profiles. To protect the website from spam and break-in attempts, your IP address is used in scrambled (hashed) form for a short time to limit repeated prayer-form submissions (one hour) and failed sign-in attempts (15 minutes). Our web host may keep standard server logs for security.
Content from other services
Some pages show content from other companies, which receive your IP address when that content loads:
- YouTube videos of our messages, played in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com).
- Google Maps on the Plan Your Visit page, and Google Fonts for the website’s lettering.
- Links to our Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and Telegram pages, which follow those services’ own privacy policies once you open them.
How long we keep information
We keep prayer requests only for as long as our prayer team needs them, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Your rights
You may ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you may withdraw your consent at any time. Children
If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before sending us your contact details.
Changes
If we change how the website uses information, we will update this page.
